DECEMBER 2004:

SLY Magazine interviewed Dr. Michael Zey  on his concept of the "Ultra-Human" and his views on science's ability to retard the aging process. Aimed at the 35-65 demographic, SLY Magazine is slated to debut in March, 2005.

(Founded by Sylvester "Sly" Stallone.) NOVEMBER 2004:Michael G. Zey recently had his Op-Ed published in the  Washington Times Sunday edition, Nov. 21, 2004. The Op-Ed was entitled "A Post -Petroleum Energy Vision". In the article Dr. Zey predicts that future oil prices will force the U.S. and other countries to turn to nuclear power, hybrid autos, and eventually nuclear fusion for their energy needs.

OCTOBER 2004:

Michael G. Zey of the Management Dept. was quoted in the article "Man and Machine" that appeared in the Oct. 2004 RFID Journal. The article dealt  with the impact of radio-frequency identification technologies on jobs and the economy.

Dr. Zey appeared Oct. 6 2004 on the "John Gromley Live" program on radio stations CJME  and CJOM in Canada  to discuss the commercial applications  of space exploration. The interview took place during the second flight of X-Prize winner SpaceshipOne. Zey predicted that the most immediate commercial applications of space would be space tourism and the mining of asteroids and the moont for precious metals and minerals.

Michael Zey was interviewed by the Boston Globe for an upcoming edition of the its magazine on the issue of the social and economic impact of video gamingon teens and others. Special focus was paid to the issue of how playing video games affects learning and the educational system itself.

AUGUST 2004:

Dr. Michael G. Zey was recently interviewed on the topic of how futurists can help the food industry better predict consumer food and diet preferences. The article will appear in the "The Source", published for small business owners by "Sam's Club", circulation over 1 million.

Dr. Michael G. Zey was interviewed by La Repubblica, Italy's highest-circulation daily newspaper.  The article, which appeared August 2, 2004, interviewed Dr. Zey on a wide range of issues, including superlongevity, major technological breakthroughs of 2004, and the future of the "futurology" field.

The RFID Journal interviewed Michael Zey for an upcoming issue. The article deals with the impact of new technologies, especially robotics and "radio frequency identification" (RFID), on jobs, the economy, and the very nature of work itself. The article should appear in Fall 2004.

JULY 2004:

Michael Zey will addreseds the World Future Society on "The Emerging Immortality Industry and Its Impact on Business and Society". The speech took place at the Society's International Conference, Washington, D.C. July, 2004.

Dr. Edward Cornish, in his new book Futuring: The Exploration of the Future (World Future Society, Bethesda, 2004), listed Zey's Future Factor in his bibliography of essential and classic books on the future.

Michael Zey was featured in a July 2004 article appearing in the Times-Express of NJ and Eastern PA. The article dealt with the impact of stem cell research on the effort to overcome diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. It also examined the role that the incipient Stem Cell Institute of New Jersey will have on the field and the NJ economy.

JUNE 2004:

June 2004 the Dallas Morning News interviewed Dr. Zey on the impact of cell phones on privacy and communication.

Computer Source magazine interviewed Michael Zey on artificial intelligence. The article, to appear late Summer 2004, deals with a number of aspects of AI, including whether computers will ever posess "human" emotions and intellect.

The 2004 "Family Business Mentoring Handbook", published by Family Business Magazine, included an article by Dr. Zey. The article's title is "The Benefits Are Mutual". The article featured Dr. Zey's "Mutual Benefits Model of Mentoring".

MAY 2004:

In May 2004 the Omaha World Herald interviewed Dr. Zey for an article on the positive and negative perceptions of Walmart, (VIEW) both locally and nationally.

Michael Zey's book "The Future Factor: The Forces Shaping Human Destiny", was published May, 2004, in an updated edition with a new introduction by Transaction Publishers/Rutgers University. The book was originally published in hardcover by McGraw-Hill. The Age, one of Australia's largest newpapers, included many of Dr.Zey's ideas about the social and economic impact of superlongevity in an article on the extended life span. The results of their interview with Dr. Zey appeared in March, 2004 (VIEW).   The Australian newspaper discussed Zey's ideas on superlongevity. March 12, 2004.

APRIL 2004:

In April 2004 Netscape home page featured Dr. Zey's comments on the possibility of humans living to 150 yrs of age and beyond.

MARCH 2004:

In March 2004 the Kansas City Star interviewed Dr. Zey on China's space program. The article focused on China's efforts to achieve competitive economic and military advantage over the U.S.

Dr. Zey's article "The Next Race for Space" (VIEW) was published in several NJ papers, and picked up nationally. The article deals with the emerging competition between the U.S. and China in various space endeavors .

FEBRUARY 2004:

Dr. Zey appeared in the February 2004 edition of Entrepreneur Magazine. The article dealt with the key technologies to watch as the U.S. and global economy begins to recover and expand. Zey named broadband communications, genetic engineering, and fuel cells among the technologies pivotal to the next economic boom.

JANUARY 2004:

January 2004 Wired magazine interviewed Dr. Zey on the impact of technology on combating terrorism. Publication date has not yet been schedule.
